Bidibidi Refugee Women Organization (BREWO) is a refugee Women-led, non-profit organization working in Uganda to empower displaced communities. Through education and skills training, Protect, food security and Livelihood, and peacebuilding initiatives, BREWO tackles barriers to learning, fights hunger, and addresses the root causes of violent conflicts. Our mission is to foster self-sufficiency and build peaceful, resilient communities where every individual can thrive."

Education & Skill Training

Nous offrons aux jeunes femmes réfugiées une éducation de base et une formation professionnelle pour les aider à devenir autonomes. Distribution de matériel d'apprentissage à nos apprenants de l'école secondaire Valley View dans la zone un de Bidibidi.

Sécurité alimentaire et moyens de subsistance

Renforcer la nutrition et les pratiques agricoles durables pour améliorer l’autosuffisance, la résilience et l’autonomisation économique tout en promouvant des solutions intelligentes face au climat, la valeur ajoutée et l’accès au marché pour une meilleure sécurité alimentaire et des moyens de subsistance.

formation professionnelle

We offer vocational training in various trades, equipping women and youth with skills that are in demand within their communities. From tailoring to agriculture, these programs provide hands-on experience and enhance employability. Our goal is to help participants establish sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their families.

Aujourd'hui, BREWO est devenue une communauté dynamique de femmes et de jeunes qui non seulement se soutiennent mutuellement, mais s'engagent également auprès des acteurs locaux pour défendre les droits et les besoins des réfugiés. Empowering Refugee Women & Youth for a Resilient Future At the Refugee Women Organization (REWO), we envision a society where refugee and host community women, children, and youth thrive with dignity, self-reliance, and equal opportunity. 

Our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan is a bold roadmap toward inclusive growth, sustainable livelihoods, and protection for the most vulnerable in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement and Yumbe District.

🎯 Our GoalTo empower 10,000 refugee and host community youth—with a focus on 70% women—with market-driven skills, education, and entrepreneurship opportunities, enabling 80% to achieve sustainable incomes by 2030

  • Implemented the successful Bridge Project with War Child Canada & Mastercard Foundation
  • Established key institutional policies (Finance, HR, Safeguarding, etc.)
  • Women’s representation in leadership structures increased to 48%

💰 Our 5-Year BudgetWe aim to raise UGX 4.2 Billion (approx. USD 1.1M) over five years, scaling our impact through collaboration with donors such as Mastercard Foundation, UNHCR, GIZ, and more.

  •  The Story of BREWO-Uganda. In the heart of Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, a beacon of hope is transforming lives. Bidibidi Refugee Women Organization (BREWO)-Uganda is a refugee women-led, non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting women and youth through education and Skills Training, Protection, food security and Livelihood, entrepreneurship, and community development. Established on August 11, 2020, BREWO stands as a testament to the resilience and determination of refugee women who refuse to be left behind.
